WARRANTY INFORMATION

Product Warranty

The Lothian Garage Door Company offers that for a period of (2) Two years or (5) Five Years on Upgraded Somfy Motors and Control Boxes. Parts will be covered from your product’s delivery to us, should it prove to be defective due to workmanship.

The warranty period for replacement parts is 6 months or to the end of the current warranty period, which ever is longer. Non consumable replacement parts (e.g. motor) purchased from our parts shop are supplied with 6 months warranty from date of dispatch consumable.

Warranty Conditions

Subject to the under-mentioned specific limitations and exceptions, The Lothian Garage Door Company warrants all new doors, motors and electronic components of its manufacture to be free from defect in workmanship under normal use and service and further warrants all installation carried out by The Lothian Garage Door Company to be free from defects and workmanship, its obligations hereunder being limited to making good any such defect PROVIDED THAT notice of any claimed defect in material workmanship in or resulting from installation of any door shall have been given to the manufacturer within a reasonable period from date of installation/delivery.

The Lothian Garage Door Company will not be liable in respect of any defect arising from wear and tear, wilful damage, negligence, abnormal working conditions or failure to follow the instructions ( whether verbal or in writing ) including but without limitation: (a) electrical work external to the product; (b) transportation or relocation of the product not by the supplier; (c) any error or omission relating to the product; (d) any modification, adjustment or repair to the product made by a third party without the written consent of the supplier; (e) the subjection of the product by the customer to unusual physical or electrical stress; (f) the door striking an immovable object during travel; (g) failure of electrical power, or any other cause which is not due to the neglect or the default of the supplier, its employees, agents or subcontractors.

The Lothian Garage Door Company cannot be held responsible for any loss or damage that was unforeseeable to both parties at the time the contract was formed.

The Lothian Garage Door Company is not responsible for indirect losses which happen as a side effect of the main loss or damage and which are unforeseeable by either party (such as loss of profits or loss of opportunity).

Items Excluded From Warranty

Batteries, bulbs, fuses, sensitivity adjustments and any other consumables.

Conditions Of Sale And Installation

Any delivery and/or installation dates given are approximate only and The Lothian Garage Door Company accepts no liability for delay from any cause whatsoever, including but without limitation to Act of God, war, government or semi-government enactment, regulation or restriction, lock-out, strike, industrial dispute, fire, tempest, flood, failure or inability to obtain licenses, transport of materials or any other cause beyond The Lothian Garage Door Company’s control. If delivery or installation is delayed, The Lothian Garage Door Company may extend the time of delivery or installation. 

The buyer shall take all reasonable steps to ensure the safety of any of the representatives who visit the premises of the buyer. The buyer shall provide at all times routine day to day maintenance and care of the product.

The Lothian Garage Door Company will deem this guarantee to be null and void if the payment in full and cleared funds is not received for this product or any services performed upon it. This is to be coincided a breach of contract on behalf of the buyer and compensation will be sought by The Lothian Garage Door Company to the fullest extent permitted by law.

Nothing in this guarantee will reduce your statutory rights relating to faulty or miss-described goods. For further information about your statutory rights contact your local authority Trading Standards Department or Citizens Advice Bureau, this guarantee is not transferable.
